Practice Philosophy

I believe in using intuition, communication, and learned techniques to deduct what each body needs from massage therapy.

I believe that each person wants and needs something different-whether it is healing, maintenance, stress and tension reduction, relaxation, or a combination of the above. Our bodies are our vehicles in which we experience life, and therefore endure the same stresses, emotions, memories, and injuries as our mind and spirit.

I believe massage therapy is a valuable tool in allowing us to listen and feel connected to our bodies, and helping us to create balance within.

"When you touch the body, you touch the whole person, the intellect, the spirit, and the emotions." (Jane Harrington)

Practice Philosophy

I believe our bodies are living records of every physical and emotional event we experience. Layers of experience, habitual movements and patterns of holding ourselves on a daily basis is the knowledge that gives our bodies tone and posture. As a result tension, limited flexibility and even pain can become a part of our lives. Massage centers our body experience to the "here and now," physiologically increases our natural healing power and educates us how we may change life patterns by increasing appreciation of ourselves. Consequently every massage emerges as a positive and unique healing treatment with clear physiological and emotional results that connect the body/mind of each individual.

The body has a wisdom that can teach us about ourselves. With injury, massage therapy can be a tool to affect great change; I have found this to be true in my own body. Whether for rehabilitation, comfort, human contact or relaxation, massage can provide overall treatment for a person. I feel I learn a great deal when I am able to assist in the healing process and hope to pass that along to the client.
